About BizSoftExpert

Software reviews written for people with a truck.
Not for people with a procurement team.

BizSoftExpert reviews field service management, scheduling, dispatch and invoicing software for small HVAC, plumbing, electrical and landscaping businesses.

Why this site exists

Most software reviews are written for companies you are not

Search for field service software and you land on pages comparing platforms built for a hundred technicians, priced for a hundred technicians, and reviewed by someone who never had to close out a work order in a crawl space with one bar of signal.

That is a different business than yours. A three truck shop does not need territory optimization. It needs quotes that turn into invoices without retyping anything, a schedule the whole crew can see, and an app that does not lose a job when the phone drops off the network.

This site covers that end of the market only. Every guide is written for owners running between one and ten technicians, and every recommendation is judged against how the tool behaves on a normal working week, not on a demo.

How we test

The same five checks, every time

Nothing gets recommended for having the longest feature list. Software is scored on the parts that decide whether your crew keeps using it after week three.

01

Will a technician use it without training

We set up a real account and work through the flow a technician actually follows. If closing a job needs a tutorial, it loses points here.

02

Does it hold up with bad signal

We test the mobile app offline, then bring it back online to see whether the job survives the round trip and syncs cleanly.

03

Does money move end to end

Quote to work order to invoice to payment. Anywhere a line item has to be retyped into a second system is a place your margin leaks.

04

Does it sync with the books

A real accounting integration, not a CSV export. We check what actually maps across, and what your bookkeeper has to fix by hand.

05

What does it cost per tech, per month

We price every platform at the crew sizes that matter, so you can see what happens to the bill when you hire a fourth technician.

Who this is for

Small trade businesses, four trades deep

The site is organized by trade, because the scheduling problem for an HVAC shop in July is not the scheduling problem for a landscaping crew in April.

Service technician working with a tablet
HVACSeasonal load, maintenance plans, and dispatch that survives a heat wave.
PlumbingEmergency calls, on site quoting, and invoices sent before you leave the driveway.
ElectricalEstimates, permits, and job costing that holds together across long projects.
LandscapingRecurring routes, seasonal contracts, and billing that runs itself.
Editorial standards

What we will not do

No paid placementsNo vendor can buy a spot, a rank, or a rating on this site. Commission rates never change the order of a list.
No invented numbersWe do not publish statistics, testimonials or results we cannot point to a source for. If we did not test it, we say so.
No pretending one tool wins everythingA platform that suits a solo operator is often wrong for a five truck crew. Recommendations are always tied to a shop size.
No stale reviews left standingPricing and features move. When a platform changes something that affects the verdict, the guide gets updated or pulled.
Affiliate disclosure

How this site makes money

Reader supported, and clearly labeled

BizSoftExpert participates in affiliate programs. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you sign up for a product through one of them, we may earn a commission. There is no additional cost to you, and the price you pay is the same either way.

Every affiliate link on this site is marked as one, on the same screen as the link itself. We do not hide them behind neutral wording, and we do not run them without a disclosure nearby.

Commissions fund the testing, the trial accounts and the time it takes to write the guides. They do not decide the rankings. A tool that we would not run in our own shop does not get recommended here, regardless of what it pays.
